Proud Thomas

Utility man Thomas Chambers proudly shows off the Grangepans Shield recently won by the all - conquering Grangepans Cosmos team of 1981.

Earlier in the week the Cosmos had beaten a hapless Bridgeness United team in the final , containing such legendary players as Ducky Law, Danny Paiterson and Hugh 'Choo Choo am a Train'. Indeed, Law never quite got over the defeat and later gave up football altogether, prefering to throw his energies into a career in posting his wullie & baws thru letterboxes in Fountainpark Crescent.

Also in this foaty we can see a subs bench consisting of Cosmos players Campbell Reid, Tooty and Coax Finlay.

Wee Clare Meikle is shouting on a hidden Jan and Steven Meikle to "come in fur thir tea" and to tell everybody that "anywiy the game's a bogey cos thir mam had just rented Zombie Flesheaters on video oot i Alastairs to watch on thir new Hitachi VHS player".

Meanwhile Binnz is about to spray a magnificent side-foot pass out to David Johnstone, adopting his customary stealth position in the jaggies on the wing. Unfortunately Johnstone would fail to trap the ball, later claiming he was " unconscious for 15 seconds".
