Hallelujah

1985 - After years of removing stubborn 'baw stains' from the outside wall areas, the new owners of the Church of the Closed Brethern in Boundary Street make their feelings known from the outset.

Funnily enough, the WORST place I ever played long-shooty was about 2 months ago at Lithgi Loch.

Not only was the baw coverd in a combination of swan & rat shite, but the wind blew it intae the Loch, never to be seen again.

As for the best place for croassie - in?

Do u remember we used to play at that we gressy bit in the middle of Boundary Street as u turn intae Thirlestane? I seem to remember we used to play 5 a sides thair, which shows u how wee we aw wir. But my abidin memory of those days is the baw hittn oaf that auld boy's windae right next to that area. It must hav clattered oaf the windae aboot 5 times every game. Mind um? he used to come to the windae and just STARE at us...If it wis a really bad clatter, ie wi Jim Lourie's leather baw wi the laces in it, he would come oot and tell us tae Feck Off!! Pair cant - imagine tryin to get sum peace in ur twilight years and gettn a fitba rattln oaf ur windae aw the time - its a wonder he didny take a hert attack min!! If ur up thair auld yin I would just like to say - "sorry aboot that Mister but....it, it wisnae me,honest mister... it wis maistly that Steven Meikle fi doon the road!!!!"
